Our first meeting of 2019 concentrated on a request to find out more about using our cameras with more than the automatic settings provided from the manufacturers such as Panasonic, Sony and Canon.
It seems easy to never investigate the manual settings and it fell to our chairman, Stewart, to give members an insight into how to use focus, exposure and audio settings. While taking this on board, he also explained when to use manual settings and when it was more appropriate to allow the cameras automatic settings to prevail.
Stewart had prepared short video comparisons to illustrate his points and many of the members were pleased to see the possible uses of learning basic manual settings. After all many members have used manual settings for still photography before the advent of the automatic settings now provided on still cameras, smart phones and the like.
A most interesting informative and rewarding evening.
