One third of the members present submitted an entry to this year’s competition. The first offering was a story of the Tiverton Canal ably constructed from a series of clips by Malcolm.
The second video was of a family visit to the war graves in Belgium. Frank had a variety of well edited film clips set to a tastefully chosen musical pieces.
Our third was a visit to Cuba to find that the trains were still steaming. Alan showed us that you could always find a pig being roasted on an open fire and that there was likely
Frank won the day with his sensitively rendered visit finding his Uncle’s grave at the Cemetery close to Bruges.
After a short break, Malcolm demonstrated how he had used Google Earth for the maps used in his entry for the competition. A most interesting demonstration with several members showing particular interest in using the programme.
Alan brought the evening to a close with some of his films from Cuba showing that nothing appeared to change over the years except it appeared to him that everyone now had a mobile phone.
